The aim of this project is to analyze the macrophage transcriptome and protein markers of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patients compared to controls (non-affected individuals, patients with other motor impairments) and asymptomatic ALS gene carriers, to find new pathways for therapeutic targets and disease biomarkers.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Agree to participate in this research and have signed an informed consent
- Be able to understand the objectives and procedures of the study
- Be affiliated to French social security or equivalent
- Be affected by ALS (definite, probable, or possible) either sporadic or familial
- Not affected by ALS but have a close relative with ALS who carries a known mutation and has consented to genetic analysis
- Have a motor impairment such as motor neuropathy, myopathy, myositis, spastic paraplegia, cramp/fasciculation syndrome, chronic inflammatory polyradiculitis, somatization disorder, anterior spinal artery syndrome, encephalitis, myelitis, peroneal neuropathy, cervical myelopathy with radiculopathy, spinocerebellar ataxia, Kennedy disease, spinal atrophy, or hereditary distal motor neuropathy
- Be accompanying a person with ALS or other motor impairment followed by doctors at the ALS referral center or neurophysiology department at Piti-Salptrire hospital
You will not qualify if you...
- Be under legal protection measures such as guardianship or curatorship
- Refuse to participate in the study
- Have a condition that the doctor deems incompatible with blood draw or research participation
- Be pregnant or breastfeeding
