Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Alaska Native/American Indian person living in Alaska
  • Age 18 years or older
  • Self-reported smoking in the past 7 days, verified by saliva test with cotinine ≥ 30 ng/mL
  • Smoked 3 or more cigarettes per day over the past 3 months
  • Considering or willing to make a quit attempt
  • Have or will nominate an adult family member to enroll with them
  • Own or have access to a mobile phone or tablet with Internet and text messaging, or willing to use a loaned iPad
  • Willing to upload photos during smoking status tests
  • Willing to complete and sign IRS W-9 tax form if receiving payments
  • Willing to provide written informed consent and participate in study procedures
  • Family members aged 18 years or older nominated by index participant or supporting a family smoker
  • Family members own or have access to a mobile phone or tablet with Internet and text messaging, or willing to use a loaned iPad
  • Family members willing to complete and sign IRS W-9 tax form if receiving payments
  • Family members willing to provide written informed consent and participate in study procedures
  • Both men and women, including non-ANAI racial/ethnic groups and those living outside Alaska, are eligible as family members
