Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- For focus groups: Individuals identifying as Black and male who are familiar with medical care and cancer
- For surveys: Age 18 or older
- For surveys: Histologic evidence of prostate adenocarcinoma
- For surveys: Require, have required, or will require prostate cancer treatment
- For surveys: Understand the protocol and are willing to complete questionnaires and participate in interviews
- For surveys: Able and willing to sign informed consent
- For interviews: Enrollment in the survey phase
- For group 2: Age 18 or older
- For group 2: Black men or other underserved patients (older adults, rural residents, those with transportation challenges)
- For group 2: Histologic evidence of prostate adenocarcinoma
- For group 2: Requiring active standard hormone-based therapies, antibone resorptive agents, oral anticancer treatments, or intravenous chemotherapy
- For group 2: Receiving supportive care or anticancer therapy at home through Cancer Care Beyond Walls
- For group 2: Understand the protocol and able and willing to sign informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- For focus groups: Individuals not identifying as Black or male or without extensive healthcare interaction
- For surveys: Individuals not identifying as Black men
- For surveys: Individuals without a prostate cancer diagnosis
- For interviews: Not enrolled in the survey phase
- For group 2: Individuals not identifying as Black men or other underserved patients
- For group 2: Without histologic evidence of prostate adenocarcinoma
- For group 2: Not requiring active standard anti-cancer therapy
