Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer or esophageal cancer and planned to receive at least 24 fractions of thoracic radiation therapy
- Have an ECOG performance status of 2 or less
- Have a family caregiver willing and able to participate in the exercise program
- Both patient and caregiver are 18 years or older
- Both patient and caregiver can read and speak English
- Both patient and caregiver can provide informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Cognitive deficits that affect the ability to complete self-report instruments as noted in medical records or by the attending radiation oncologist
- Contraindications to exercise as determined by the clinical team
- Regular participation in an exercise program in the year before diagnosis
- Patient or caregiver is pregnant (noted in medical records or self-identified)
