Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Symptoms of dyspepsia thought to represent functional dyspepsia, meeting Rome IV criteria
- Had an upper endoscopy and assessment for Helicobacter pylori; if positive, treatment with confirmed eradication is required before inclusion
- Completed history and physical exam during a prior consultation with a gastroenterologist at Mayo Clinic Florida General GI or Motility clinic
You will not qualify if you...
- Symptoms thought to represent an organic disorder such as peptic ulcer disease, hepatitis, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, type I diabetes, known malignancy, radiation injury, active infection, vasculitis, or celiac disease
- Known uncontrolled GERD, esophagitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, or untreated Helicobacter pylori
- Diagnosed gastroparesis or cyclic vomiting syndrome
- Prior surgery to the esophagus, stomach, or duodenum
- Currently taking opioids
- History of motion sickness, vertigo, or seizure disorder
- Predominant irritable bowel syndrome symptoms
