- Body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 or higher
- Predominantly from East China to minimize population differences
- Willing and able to provide informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Cushing syndrome
- Hypothyroidism
- Obesity caused by pituitary or hypothalamic lesions
- Drug-related obesity
- History of major psychiatric illness
