Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patients in stages 3 to 5 of chronic kidney disease with glomerular filtration rate from 15 to 59 mL/min
  • Patients receiving outpatient nutrition treatment for at least 6 months
  • Patients on regular hemodialysis treatment for at least 6 months
  • Patients using one to three antihypertensive drugs
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Having autoimmune or infectious diseases
  • Having diabetes
  • Having cancer
  • Having AIDS
  • Being pregnant
  • Using catabolic drugs or antibiotics
  • Having catheter access for hemodialysis
  • Using antioxidant vitamin supplements, prebiotics, probiotics, or symbiotics
  • Regular intake of propolis
  • Allergy to corn starch or bee stings
  • Having acute myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident
