Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Pregnant women, either first-time or with previous births
  • Full-term pregnancy
  • Baby presenting head first (cephalic presentation)
  • Planning a spontaneous vaginal delivery
  • Use of oxytocin during delivery
  • Use of analgesics during delivery
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Preterm labor or late preterm delivery
  • Acute fetal distress during the pushing stage
  • Breech delivery
  • Shoulder dystocia
  • Surgical delivery methods such as vacuum extraction, Kristeller maneuver, or cesarean section
  • Episiotomy
