What this Trial Is About
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a global health crisis, leading to widespread closures of institutions, including schools and universities, to protect public health. In Pakistan, all educational institutions were closed from March 2020, making it difficult to continue traditional education. To address this, e-learning was introduced worldwide, including in Pakistan, to keep educational activities ongoing during these closures. This research focuses on the challenges and barriers faced by medical students in Pakistan as education shifts from physical classrooms to hybrid and online learning models. The study evaluates the availability of infrastructure and institutional strategies needed to support distance e-learning, which became essential during the pandemic. The research uses an online self-administered questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale to gather data from students about their experiences with e-learning. Participants will complete the questionnaire online, which assesses their educational levels and experiences using the Likert scale over 30 days. The study measures differences in educational levels among students and explores obstacles related to e-learning in medical education. This cross-sectional survey aims to understand the impact of the sudden transition to distance learning and identify factors affecting its effectiveness and acceptance among medical students in Pakistan.
