Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults 18 years or older
- Diagnosed with traumatic brain injury caused by external force with loss of consciousness, post-traumatic amnesia, or neurological findings attributed to TBI
- Injury occurred less than 6 months before consent
- Weight under 298 pounds and height under 6 feet 2 inches
- Skin intact without open wounds where treadmill harness contacts
- Able to walk at least 10 feet with assistance from no more than two people or assistive devices
- Walking speed less than 1.4 meters per second
- Able to follow directions and standardized instructions
- Completed or currently completing initial inpatient rehabilitation for TBI
- O-Log cognitive score of at least 20
- Medically cleared for high intensity step training by a physician
You will not qualify if you...
- Uncontrolled cardiopulmonary, metabolic, or infectious disorders
- History of orthopedic or neurological disorders limiting motor function before TBI
- Behavioral issues or other reasons judged by investigators to interfere with study participation
- Uncontrolled seizure disorder
- Pregnant or lactating females
- Currently enrolled in other interventional clinical trials
- Untreated or poorly controlled psychiatric conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder
