Hip Abductor Strengthening Exercises in Knee Osteoarthritis
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 40 and 60 years
- Both males and females can participate
- Knee pain lasting 3 months or longer
- Average knee pain severity of at least 4 on an 11-point scale in the past week
- Knee osteoarthritis grade II or III on X-ray (Kellgren and Lawrence classification)
- For bilateral knee osteoarthritis, the more affected knee will be studied
- Willingness to take part in the exercise program
You will not qualify if you...
- History of lower limb surgery
- Previous knee fracture or cancer
- Known hip osteoarthritis or past trauma to one or both hips
- Corticosteroid injection into the knee within the last 3 months
- Pregnancy
