This study proposes a horse-assisted therapy (HAT) approach to accompany children and young adults undergoing irradiation in the ICANS Radiotherapy Department. The aim of this new approach is to improve quality of life and reduce anxiety in children and adolescents treated with radiotherapy. The impact of equine-assisted therapy on quality of life and anxiety disorders will be described prospectively between the start and end of irradiation in children and parents who agree to inclusion.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Children aged 8 to under 18 years
- Indicated for radiotherapy treatment for any type of cancer
- Hospitalized or managed on an outpatient basis
- WHO performance status less than or equal to 2
- Child and parents or accompanying adults who speak and understand French
- Free, express, and informed consent from adult patient or parental authority for minors
- Child covered by social security
You will not qualify if you...
- Children afraid of horses or stables
- Contraindications to equine-assisted therapy such as allergies to horses or dust, or asthma triggered by dust or animal hair
- Patients confined to a stretcher
- Children or parents with significant cognitive impairment preventing assessment even with help
- Unavailability or lack of interest in participating in horse-assisted therapy sessions
