WeChat-Based Humanistic Nursing Support for Patients Undergoing Thermal Ablation for Papillary Thyroid Cancer

This clinical trial focuses on people with papillary thyroid carcinoma who are scheduled to undergo thyroid thermal ablation while awake under local anesthesia. The study is designed to evaluate whether a human-centered nursing care approach delivered via WeChat can reduce emotional distress and improve quality of life compared to usual nursing care. Researchers aim to understand how emotional support, clear communication, comfort, and follow-up affect patients experiences during and after this minimally invasive procedure. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two groups one receiving structured humanistic continuing care through WeChat, which includes pre-procedure coaching, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure education and psychosocial support for 12 weeks or one receiving usual nursing care without the WeChat program. The humanistic care involves nurse-led sessions before, during, and after the procedure, with ongoing symptom monitoring and messaging. During the study, participants complete questionnaires measuring emotional distress, quality of life, pain, and satisfaction with care before, during, and after the procedure. Vital signs and adherence to care plans are monitored throughout. The main outcomes assessed are changes in emotional distress and quality of life up to three months post-treatment. Additional measures include pain levels during the procedure and satisfaction with nursing care. The study duration encompasses enrollment through three months after treatment to track recovery and any complications.
