What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the effects of the Promoting Healthy Aging with Sport Exercise (PHASE) programs on the functional abilities of older adults. The study aims to match different types of sport exercises to older adults at various stages of their physical and mental health. It explores how tailored exercise programs can promote healthy aging by measuring outcomes related to overall health, physical, psychological, and cognitive functions. Participants will be assigned to one of six groups: five different exercise interventions or a control group with no exercise. The exercise programs include football training, gerotechnology-enhanced multi-component exercises, slow sports and exercises, walking exercises, and home-based exercise sessions. Each intervention has specific schedules, such as weekly sessions over several weeks, led by professional instructors and supported by wearable technology or digital platforms. During the study, participants will be assessed at the beginning (baseline), after 3 months, and after 6 months. Researchers will measure changes in health status, mobility, activity levels, muscle strength, loneliness, cognitive function, and risk of muscle loss. The study includes monitoring exercise intensity and functional mobility, aiming to understand the benefits of these programs on healthy aging. The total participation duration spans at least six months with multiple follow-up assessments.
