What this Trial Is About
This research aims to evaluate whether adding hypnosis to usual care can better control pain during the lavage procedure in patients with acute knee osteoarthritis. The study is a monocentric, prospective, controlled, randomized, single-blind Phase 3 trial with about 100 patients over 2 years. It seeks to determine if hypnosis reduces pain and the need for pain medications after the lavage. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care combined with hypnosis delivered by an expert. The lavage procedure, which can cause pain and anxiety, will be performed as usual. The hypnosis intervention is given alongside standard treatments to explore its impact on pain relief. During the study, pain will be measured using a Visual Analog Scale immediately after the lavage. Researchers will monitor analgesic use for a week following the procedure. The total duration of study participation includes initial treatment and follow-up assessments to evaluate pain control and medication consumption.
