Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with rectal or sigmoidal cancer who are not candidates for surgical removal due to advanced age, other health problems, or multiple metastases at diagnosis
- Patients aged 18 years or older
- Patients treated with radiotherapy at a dose of 39 Gy in 13 fractions of 3 Gy each
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients with cancer not in the rectum or sigmoid colon
- Patients younger than 18 years
- Patients receiving chemotherapy at the same time as radiotherapy
- Patients considered eligible for surgery after radiotherapy
