Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patient 45 years old or older
  • Scheduled for open colorectal, hepatobiliary, or vascular surgery
  • Expected to have an arterial cannula inserted during surgery
  • Anticipated to stay in the post-anesthetic recovery room for at least 2 hours
  • Able to provide written informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Planned admission to the intensive care unit after surgery
  • Refusal to participate in the study
  • Previously enrolled in this study
