What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying how GLP-1 medications, commonly used to help with weight loss, may change a person's attitudes toward food, their reactions to food, and the types and amounts of foods they choose. The study focuses on adults with overweight or obesity who are starting GLP-1 medication. Understanding these changes can help ensure individuals maintain a balanced nutrient intake while using these medications. Participants will have two visits: one before beginning GLP-1 medication and another three months after starting the medication. No additional treatments or interventions are given between these visits. The study observes participants' food choices and behaviors using a virtual reality buffet to measure changes over time. During the study, researchers will assess changes in the total weight, calories, energy density, and variety of food selected at the virtual buffet from baseline to three months. They will also evaluate changes in food-related questionnaires and craving scores. The participation involves these two visits, with no other treatments or procedures, and will last about three months in total.
