Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 2 18 years
- Hospitalized in intensive care or continuing care unit for at least 48 hours
- Hospitalized for medical reasons (including pre-surgery) or post-surgical phase
- Patient or support person speaks and understands French and can complete questionnaires
- Negative pregnancy test for women of childbearing age, even if using contraception
- Informed consent signed by patient or trusted support person
You will not qualify if you...
- Deaf or blind patients
- Patients with asthma requiring background treatment
- Patients with epilepsy or history of convulsions
- Known allergy or intolerance to essential oils or their components
- Patients transferred from another intensive care unit
- Patients under legal protection or deprived of liberty
- Breastfeeding or pregnant women
- Patients or support persons unable to understand study information
- Unconscious patients without a relative or support person present
- Homeless patients
- Patients with severe psychiatric illness such as chronic hallucinatory psychosis or paranoid syndrome
- Patients participating in or excluded from another clinical trial
- Patients not covered by a social security scheme
