Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 21 years or older
- Smoke 5 or more cigarettes per day
- Have smoked menthol cigarettes for at least 6 months
- Verified smoker with carbon monoxide level greater than 5 ppm
- Have a functioning telephone
- Interested in switching to e-cigarettes
You will not qualify if you...
- Interested in quitting smoking
- Use of other tobacco products in the past 30 days (e.g., cigarillos, cigars, hookah, smokeless tobacco, pipes)
- Used e-cigarettes on 4 or more days in the past 30 days
- Uncontrolled hypertension with blood pressure 180 systolic or higher, or 105 diastolic or higher
- Use of smoking cessation medications in the month before enrollment
- Pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Planning to move from Kansas City during the study period
- Another household member already enrolled in the study
