Patients of Stage III and Stage IV Periodontitis will be assessed for masticatory dysfunction and psychological distress. Subgingival Instrumentation will be done for treating periodontitis. Patients will be re-evaluated after 2 and 3 months in order to assess any change in masticatory dysfunction and psychological distress by improved periodontal health.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults aged 30 to 50 years diagnosed with Stage III or Stage IV generalized periodontitis
- Having at least 20 natural teeth (Eichner group A1, A2, A3), excluding third molars
You will not qualify if you...
- Having systemic diseases affecting periodontal disease progression or treatment outcome (e.g., diabetes, autoimmune diseases)
- Having systemic diseases affecting chewing ability (e.g., sarcopenia, TMJ disorders, xerostomia, acute pulpitis)
- Received periodontal treatment within the past 6 months
- Wearing orthodontic appliances
- Diagnosed psychiatric disorder
- Used antibiotics within the previous 3 months
- Using steroids, immunosuppressive, or psychiatric drugs
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- History of menopause
- Smoking or substance abuse
