Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age >18 years
  • Atherosclerosis (neurovascular, cardiac or peripheral) with an indication to start high intensity statin therapy (equivalent to 40mg atorvastatin or 20mg rosuvastatin; start of statin therapy within ±10 days of enrollment)
  • No prior statin use (statin naive)
  • LDL cholesterol >100 mg/dl measured no older than 21 days
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Unable to take medication or use the mediteo m+ app independently (e.g., need of care, dementia)
  • No personal smartphone available (no device provided)
  • Prior LDL-C lowering drug therapy within last 30 days
  • Active cancer diagnosed or treated within 6 months, or recurrent/metastatic cancer
  • Severe illness with life expectancy less than 6 months
  • Use of digital therapy management app (including mediteo or mediteo m+) within last month
  • Participation in another interventional trial
  • Pregnancy
  • Unable or unwilling to provide informed consent
