Researchers will classify patients based on the presence or absence of PIH using blood pressure measurements taken every 2 minutes in the first 20 minutes after induction. The study's main measurement is the incidence of PIH within this time frame. Data analysis will explore relationships between PIH and various clinical factors to improve anesthesia care for elderly cancer patients. The study will conclude after the 15-minute post-intubation measurement period.

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults 65 years of age or older
  • Diagnosed with cancer and scheduled for surgery
  • Able and willing to provide written informed consent
  • ASA physical status class II-IV
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Under 65 years of age
  • No confirmed cancer diagnosis
  • Refusal to provide written informed consent
  • Receiving regional anesthesia
  • Having tracheostomy or multiple intubation attempts
  • History of peripheral arterial disease
  • Use of vasopressors before surgery
  • Uncontrolled hypertension (blood pressure >180/110 mmHg)
  • Advanced heart failure (Ejection Fraction <40%)
  • Severe arrhythmias preventing reliable monitoring
