Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 60 years or older
- Scheduled for oncologic, cardiac, or orthopedic surgical procedure at BJH or BJWCH
- Clinically significant depression or anxiety symptoms with PHQ-ADS score of 10 or higher
- Self-identify as Black or African American
You will not qualify if you...
- Unable to provide informed consent
- Severe cognitive impairment with Short Blessed Test score of 10 or higher
- Acutely suicidal
- Considered ineligible by the surgeon or study principal investigator
