Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Newly diagnosed, untreated, non-distant metastatic, non-keratinizing nasopharyngeal carcinoma
  • Nodes diagnosed with PET/CT and MRI
  • Staged as T1-4N0-2 or N3 with non-bilateral lower-neck node metastasis
  • Aged between 18 and 70 years
  • Karnofsky performance-status score greater than 70
  • Adequate blood function: leucocyte count over 4 x 10^9/L, hemoglobin over 90 g/L, thrombocyte count over 100 x 10^9/L
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Previous chemotherapy, surgery (except diagnostic), or radiotherapy to the neck or nasopharyngeal regions
  • Previous malignancy
  • Lactation or pregnancy
  • Severe coexisting illness
