Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- All consecutive patients receiving transperineal ultrasound-guided biopsy for any reason
- Elevated PSA levels
- Abnormal digital rectal exam
- Follow-up biopsy during active surveillance
- Suspicion of prostate cancer recurrence after radiotherapy
- Follow-up biopsy after focal therapy
- Patients who consent to participate in the study
You will not qualify if you...
- Suspected urinary tract infection within the last month
- Confirmed bacteriuria within the last month
- History of recurrent urinary tract infections
- Presence of an indwelling urinary catheter
- Immunocompromised condition
- High risk for infective endocarditis (including prosthetic heart valve, congenital heart disease, or previous infective endocarditis)
- Unable or unwilling to understand the study or provide informed consent
