Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 years or older
- Known cardiac ischemia, non-revascularizable, or not undergoing coronary intervention during the study
- Evidence of ischemia from clinical tests (echo, nuclear, ECG) within past 6 months
- Left ventricular ejection fraction greater than 40% by echocardiogram within last 3 months
- Able to complete a cardiopulmonary exercise test without major non-cardiac limitations
- On guideline-directed optimal therapy for stable ischemia
You will not qualify if you...
- Anemia with hemoglobin less than 7 mg/dl
- Low potassium levels below 3 mmol/L
- Creatinine level above 5.0 mg/dl or below 0.6 mg/dl
- Unable to exercise mainly due to orthopedic problems
- Severe lung disease
- Morbid obesity with BMI over 42
- Currently pregnant
- Breastfeeding
- Significant arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, frequent premature ventricular contractions, persistent atrial fibrillation, or advanced AV block
- History of seizures
- Unstable angina
- Coronary spasm
- Recent myocardial infarction within the past 90 days
- Recent percutaneous coronary intervention within the past 90 days
