Inhaled and Intravenous Milrinone in Patients With Severe Pulmonary Hypertension
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients scheduled to undergo mitral valve surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass
- Estimated mean pulmonary artery pressure of 55 mmHg or higher measured by preoperative Doppler echocardiography
- Adults aged 18 years or older
You will not qualify if you...
- Surgery without cardiopulmonary bypass
- Preoperative hemodynamic instability requiring vasoactive support or mechanical device
- Severe left ventricular dysfunction with ejection fraction less than 30%
- Presence of congenital heart disease
- Contraindication to transesophageal echocardiography
- Emergency surgery or repeat surgeries
- Severe kidney or liver disease
- Coagulopathy or thromboembolic disease treated with anticoagulants
