Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • ALS diagnosed by a neurologist
  • Chronic respiratory insufficiency or significant respiratory muscle weakness caused by ALS
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Impaired cognition preventing informed consent
  • Contraindication to noninvasive ventilation therapy
  • Another severe disease with prognosis less than one year
  • Ventilation via an artificial airway or tracheostomy
