Integrating Pain-CBT Into an mHealth Analgesic Support Intervention for Patients With Chronic Pain From Advanced Cancers
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 22 years or older
- Diagnosed with an active advanced cancer or receiving treatment/supportive care for advanced cancer
- Experiencing chronic cancer-related pain with a pain score greater than 4 on a 0-10 scale
- Have an active prescription for at least one opioid medication for cancer pain
- Own or use a compatible smartphone (iPhone or Android)
You will not qualify if you...
- Completed cancer treatment, not actively receiving treatment, or cancer in remission
- Cognitive impairment interfering with participation (e.g., delirium, dementia)
- Inability to speak English
- Currently receiving Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment
- Enrolled in hospice care
- Currently hospitalized
- Use of transmucosal fentanyl
- Pain mainly related to recent surgery within the last 2 weeks
- Conditions that prevent use of a smartphone
- Unable to consent, under 22 years old, pregnant women, or prisoners
