Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Enrolled in a community-based weight loss program centered in a metropolitan area of a Midwest state
- Anticipated to be greater than 18 years of age
- Have obesity
- Own a smartphone and willing to download the mobile application to receive text messages
You will not qualify if you...
- Have a current medical condition or treatment that could affect body weight
- Have an untreated psychological condition, hospitalization for psychological condition within the past 12 months, or unstable treatment for psychological conditions
- Not fluent in writing or speaking English
- Have mobility limitations preventing physical activity
- Have a family member currently enrolled or previously participated in the study
