What this Trial Is About
Researchers are investigating how atypical work schedules and idle time at work may influence at-risk gambling behaviors among adults. The study aims to explore the connection between these working conditions and gambling practices, considering social norms and individual vulnerabilities. This observational research focuses on adults living with current or past gambling issues who have been employed during the current year. Participants will complete consent forms and online self-questionnaires before taking part in an online semi-structured interview lasting 45 to 60 minutes. The study will analyze participants' language during interviews to identify predominant lexical classes and explore links between work organization, environment, personal working time during atypical hours, and periods of inactivity at work. Throughout the study, researchers will assess participants' discourse, work schedules, and gambling behaviors to understand these interactions better. The trial involves data collection via interviews and questionnaires, with no drug or device treatments involved. Participants' engagement and responses will help identify factors contributing to at-risk gambling linked to work conditions.
