Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adult 50 years or older
- Sagittal Vertical Axis (C7-S1) greater than 5 cm
- Able to transfer independently
- Able to walk 10 minutes or 400 meters continuously
- Self-reported walking difficulties
- Living at home
- Willing and consenting to participate
- Covered by health insurance
You will not qualify if you...
- Current use of walking sticks
- Advanced symptomatic osteoarthritis of lower limbs
- Fixed spine static disorder
- Use of straightening brace in past 3 months
- Static disorder from infectious, tumoral, congenital, or neurodegenerative causes
- Uncompensated lower-limb length difference over 2 cm
- Lower limb motor deficit
- Upper limb problems preventing cane use
- Proprioceptive or vestibular disorders
- Unable to write, speak, or read French
- Cognitive or behavioral disorders
- Participation in other spinal balance or gait research
- Under tutorship or curatorship
- Receiving free state medical assistance
