Pilot Study Combining Non-invasive Genetic Testing and Time-lapse Imaging to Improve Embryo Selection in IVF for Women Aged 20 to 42

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying infertile women undergoing in vitro fertilization IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection ICSI with planned non-invasive preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies niPGT-A. The goal is to see if combining two non-invasive methodstime-lapse imaging to observe embryo development and niPGT-A to analyze embryo genetic materialcan better predict embryo chromosomal health than current methods. This observational study involves about 200 patients and aims to find morphokinetic parameters that relate to embryo chromosomal status. Participants will follow their usual IVF or ICSI treatments, but embryos will be cultured in a special time-lapse system that records their development. On day 6 or 7, embryos will be vitrified, and the culture media will be collected and tested using niPGT-A. Embryo transfer will follow standard practice based on niPGT-A results, and patients may have multiple single embryo transfers or ovarian stimulation cycles if needed during recruitment. Participants involvement lasts about 11 months, including ovarian stimulation, embryo transfer, and follow-up up to the 12th gestational week or delivery if pregnancy occurs. Data from medical records will be securely collected and analyzed. Researchers will assess correlations between embryo development patterns and genetic testing results, pregnancy outcomes, and other factors like ovarian stimulation, infertility history, and body mass index. Follow-up includes monitoring pregnancy rates and birth outcomes.
