Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- A primary diagnosis of body dysmorphic disorder confirmed by a diagnostic interview
- A BDD symptom severity score of 24 or higher on the BDD-YBOCS-A
- Age between 12 and 17 years
- At least one caregiver or parent available to support the child/adolescent during treatment
- Regular access to a computer with internet and a mobile phone to receive SMS messages
You will not qualify if you...
- Previous cognitive-behavior therapy for BDD with at least five sessions within the past 12 months
- Currently receiving psychological treatment for BDD or other psychiatric conditions
- Changes to medication with SSRIs or antipsychotics within six weeks before inclusion
- Diagnosis of organic brain disorder, intellectual disability, psychosis, bipolar disorder, eating disorder, severe depression, or substance dependence
- Immediate risk of harm to self or others requiring urgent care
- Suicide attempt within the last 12 months
- Inability to read and communicate in Swedish
- Having a close relative already participating in the study to avoid group contamination
