Researchers are examining national trends over the last ten years in Denmark among patients who receive invasive home mechanical ventilation HMV. The study focuses on the reasons for using invasive HMV, the different diagnostic groups involved, and the one-year mortality rates for these patients. This observational study looks at data from 2016 to 2025 to capture yearly incidence and prevalence of patients on invasive home mechanical ventilation. It tracks new patient numbers each year and observes mortality within one year. The study includes patients who had respiratory certified personal care assistants during this period. Participants data will be reviewed to understand patterns in invasive HMV use, including diagnoses such as neuromuscular diseases and tracheostomized patients. Researchers will analyze yearly numbers and mortality outcomes without administering any treatments. The study runs from April 2026 until September 2028, focusing on data collection and analysis over this timeframe.
