L-arginine for Knee Osteoarthritis Patients
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 40 and 80 years
- Knee osteoarthritis diagnosed by American College of Rheumatology clinical criteria
- Knee pain lasting 3 months or longer with a WOMAC pain score of 7 or higher (scale 0-20)
- Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2 or 3 knee osteoarthritis
- Willing and able to provide written informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Use of NSAIDs or other analgesics within the past two weeks
- Corticosteroid injections in the index knee within the past 3 months
- Hyaluronic acid injections in the index knee within the past 6 months
- Arthroscopy or open surgery in the index knee within the past 12 months
- History of knee replacement or planned knee replacement within 3 months
- Severe injury history in the index knee
- Knee pain caused by inflammatory, autoimmune, neoplastic, or other diseases
- Abnormal liver or kidney function as defined by elevated lab tests
- Severe respiratory diseases
- History of coronary artery disease or heart failure
- Uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes mellitus
- Diagnosis of malignant tumors
- Pregnancy, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
