Comparing Laser Treatment, Combined Laser and Sclerotherapy, and Sclerotherapy Alone for Reticular Leg Veins in Women Aged 18 to 75

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to evaluate treatments for reticular leg veins, which are mainly a cosmetic concern. The study compares three approaches a 1064 nm long-pulsed NdYAG laser alone, a combination of this laser with sclerotherapy, and sclerotherapy alone. The goal is to assess the effectiveness and side effects of these methods to determine the best treatment option, as sclerotherapy can cause persistent skin discoloration that affects patient satisfaction. Participants are randomly assigned to one of three groups. One group receives laser treatment with specific laser settings, another receives the laser combined with a foam polidocanol injection, and the third group receives sclerotherapy using foam polidocanol alone. Photos of the affected area are taken before treatment, and ultrasound measures the maximum vein diameter. Each treatment aims to eliminate the reticular veins. During the study, participants will have their treated veins monitored with photos and ultrasound. Researchers will evaluate vein disappearance at six months, pain during the procedure, patient satisfaction, and skin discoloration. The trial includes safety monitoring, and the total duration for outcome measurement is six months after treatment.
