Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients 18 years or older
- Patients with visible lymph node involvement in the side of the neck detected by exam, imaging, or during surgery
- Patients with microscopic lymph node involvement confirmed by biopsy
- Candidates for lateral lymph node dissection due to suspected or confirmed metastatic lymph nodes
- Patients who may or may not require thyroidectomy and/or central neck dissection along with the lateral dissection
You will not qualify if you...
- History of previous neck dissection surgery
- Histological diagnosis of medullary or anaplastic thyroid carcinoma
- Previous injury to the spinal accessory nerve
