Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with radiographic evidence suggestive of a primary high-grade glioma
- Brain MRI with contrast showing an enhancing mass within 60 days prior to registration
- Deemed a candidate for LITT by Neurosurgery based on MRI
- History and physical exam including neurological exam within 30 days prior to registration
- Karnofsky performance status 50% or higher within 30 days prior to registration
- Age 18 years or older
- Signed informed consent
- Agreement to use effective contraception during study and for 6 months after if able to become pregnant or impregnate a partner
- Negative pregnancy test within 28 days prior to registration for females of child-bearing potential
You will not qualify if you...
- Not a surgical candidate for stereotactic biopsy or laser ablation
- Impaired cardiac function or significant cardiac diseases, including serious uncontrolled arrhythmias or recent myocardial infarction, severe angina, coronary artery bypass, congestive heart failure, stroke, transient ischemic attack, or pulmonary embolism within 6 months prior to registration
- Tumor located infratentorially or evidence of leptomeningeal spread
- Unable to undergo MRI
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
