What this Trial Is About
Potential participants will be screened at clinic. Patients who meet eligibility criteria will be considered for study. After written informed consent is obtained, participants will complete baseline testing and participants who meet eligibility criteria will be randomized 1:1 to 2 treatment arms: Vivo Arm: Vivo twice a week for 6 months and Usual Care Arm: meet with ATC and given Medbridge home exercise program for 6 months. All participants will be followed for 12 months, and will be assessed at 3-,6-, and 12-months. All participants will complete functional assessments, OA patient reported outcomes measures, quality of life, exercise self-efficacy, and fall risk questionnaires, and health care utilization report at each testing visit. A subset of Vivo participants will be asked satisfaction questions at the 3 and 6 month time points.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 55 and 85 years
- Diagnosed with osteoarthritis within the past 6 months
- Knee pain on most days of the month
- Difficulty with at least one activity such as walking a quarter mile, climbing stairs, getting in and out of a car, bath, or bed, rising from a chair, or doing shopping, cleaning, or self-care
- Radiographic Kellgren and Lawrence grade II or III in one or both knees
- Physically able to participate in strength training (able to do one chair stand unassisted)
- Ambulatory and living in the community
- Sedentary or insufficiently active by physical activity screening
- Access to Wi-Fi in the exercise area
- Body mass index between 20 and 34.9 kg/m2
- Taking medications for osteoarthritis or knee pain
- Willing and able to provide informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Neurological diseases causing functional impairments (e.g., Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS)
- Diagnosis of dementia
- Unable to complete one or more activities of daily living without help
- Knee surgery within the past 6 months
- Severe osteoporosis with T-score less than -3.5
- Currently enrolled in physical therapy for knee pain
- Currently enrolled in the Intermountain Arthrofit program
- Age below 55 or 85 and older
- Asymptomatic osteoarthritis
- No knee pain or very mild or very severe knee pain (WOMAC Pain score ≤3 or ≥18)
- Kellgren and Lawrence grade 1 or 4
- Body mass index outside 20 to 34.9 kg/m2
- Regular strength training over 30 minutes per week in past 6 months
- Meeting or exceeding recommended physical activity levels
- Co-existing diseases that threaten safety or ability to participate in live strength training
- Symptomatic or severe coronary artery or peripheral vascular disease
- Untreated high blood pressure
- Active cancer except skin cancer
