Researchers are conducting a prospective, multicenter observational study called SAFRO 2202 ALG-Lung Cancer Registry to gather detailed information on lung cancer patients in Algeria. This study focuses on various types of lung cancer, including non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and carcinoid tumors. The goal is to collect real-world data on the epidemiology, clinical features, pathology, molecular markers, and treatment patterns to improve lung cancer care nationwide. The study involves adult patients aged 18 years and older who have been diagnosed with lung cancer at the time of enrollment or within the prior 12 months. Participants are managed fully within oncology or pulmonology departments at 21 public and university hospitals across Algeria. Data are collected during routine clinical care visits without any additional study-specific procedures or interventions. Information such as tumor histology, molecular profiles, staging, and treatment choices are recorded securely in an electronic case report form. During the study, researchers will track clinical outcomes including treatment toxicities, response rates, progression-free survival, time to treatment discontinuation, and overall survival. Data collection aligns with standard care and includes demographic details, medical history, risk factors, and performance status. The study plans to enroll about 1,500 patients per year over 30 months, with each patient followed for at least 12 months to support future health planning and lung cancer management improvements in Algeria.

Researchers are conducting an observational study to understand the demographic, epidemiological, clinical, and outcome characteristics of patients with gastric cancer in Algeria. The study also aims to examine how these patients are diagnosed and treated in various oncology departments. The research gathers both prospective and retrospective data to provide a detailed overview of gastric cancer management in this population. This study collects data mainly through medical records and brief patient interviews lasting about 30 minutes. It involves approximately 1,000 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of gastric cancer. The data collection is non-interventional, meaning it does not involve any treatment or changes to patient care but focuses on describing existing diagnostic and therapeutic practices. Participants will provide information once during an initial visit, where researchers will assess demographic, sociological, epidemiological, and clinical features, along with disease progression. The study also records diagnostic methods and treatment approaches used. All collected data will be anonymized to protect patient privacy and used solely for research purposes. Participation duration corresponds to the initial data collection visit.
