Researchers are collecting and analyzing real-world data on treatment patterns, clinical outcomes, and side effects in adults with advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma PDAC in Austria. This observational study focuses on patients with locally advanced inoperable or metastatic PDAC who are receiving first-line chemotherapy as part of their palliative care. The study includes 1500 adult patients undergoing first-line chemotherapy with platinum- or gemcitabine-based regimens, including nal-Irinotecan5-FULeukovorin for those with prior neoadjuvant therapy. Data will be collected on the use and impact of approved chemotherapeutic agents from second-line treatment and on various treatment patterns, molecular testing, and outcomes over a 24-month period. Participants will be monitored for clinical outcomes, treatment efficacy, and side effects such as neuropathy, anemia, nausea, and skin toxicity. The study also tracks treatment behaviors after disease progression, the use of tumor resection or metastasectomy, and the influence of factors like diabetes or genetic mutations. Researchers will analyze data to identify predictors of treatment success and adverse events, with the primary outcome focusing on the proportion of patients receiving second-line palliative therapy after progression on first-line treatment.
