Actively Recruiting
This observational study focuses on rehabilitation for people with musculoskeletal diseases or conditions in Austria. It aims to understand a new rehabilitation approach that emphasizes work-specific exercises tailored to patients' job-related needs. Two groups are observed: one starts a three-week work-specific rehabilitation immediately, while the other begins with a three-week medical-focused rehabilitation before a four-week work-specific program. Researchers will analyze these two forms separately to learn about their impacts. The rehabilitation uses a biopsychosocial model considering both physical and psychological conditions to create individualized therapy plans. The work-specific training is added to multimodal rehabilitation to address patients' professional participation needs. This approach is designed to support patients in maintaining or improving their ability to work. Participants complete questionnaires at the start and end of their inpatient rehabilitation stay, with follow-ups at six and 12 months after finishing. The study monitors changes in workability and employment history over time. Outcome measures include profile comparisons during rehabilitation and tracking employment status months later to assess the rehabilitation's effects.
