Researchers are evaluating the performance, safety, and benefits of Wishbone HA (WHA), a bone graft substitute, compared to Bio-Oss® for filling tooth extraction sockets to preserve the alveolar socket. This prospective, multi-center, randomized, single-blinded clinical investigation will enroll 96 adult subjects in need of tooth extraction before implant placement. The study aims to confirm WHA's effectiveness and safety for bone regeneration following dental extraction procedures. Participants will be randomly assigned in equal numbers to receive either WHA or Bio-Oss® to fill their extraction sockets. Before surgery, subjects will receive a dose of antibiotics. Teeth will be extracted gently, and the socket cleaned before being filled with the assigned graft material hydrated with saline. The site will then be covered with a collagen sponge and sutured. If needed, a small connective tissue graft may be added. A CBCT scan will be done immediately after the grafting to measure initial bone width. The safety of WHA will be monitored throughout the study. Subjects will be followed up with assessments including implant stability and bone density at implant placement, implant integration at 3 months, and implant survival and success up to 5 years post-implantation. Researchers will also monitor adverse device events, patient satisfaction, and the health of the tissue around the implant at multiple time points. Participants must maintain good oral hygiene and attend all follow-up visits during the study period.
