This research aims to determine if a simple Grip-Asymmetry Index GAI can predict wrist pain in professional e-sports athletes aged 18 to 30 who play at least 35 hours per week. The study compares grip strength differences between two groups those who experience wrist pain rated 3 or higher on a 10-point scale during gaming and those with minimal or no pain. Researchers also consider factors like gaming hours, body mass index, and sex to understand their influence on wrist pain risk. Participants will have their maximal grip force measured in both hands using a Jamar dynamometer at study enrollment. The study categorizes athletes into a Pain Group or a No-Pain Group based on their self-reported wrist pain levels during gaming. A cutoff value for the GAI will be established to predict wrist pain risk using statistical analysis, with additional modeling to include other contributing factors. Throughout the study, participants will undergo a one-time assessment of grip strength and provide information on their wrist pain intensity and average weekly gaming hours. The main measurement is the Grip-Asymmetry Index, which will be recorded once at enrollment. This cross-sectional study involves no long-term follow-up and focuses on collecting data at a single time point to evaluate the relationship between grip strength asymmetry and wrist pain in professional gamers.
