Actively Recruiting

Researchers are investigating how physical activity might improve the quality of life for women with endometriosis by enhancing their self-perception of physical abilities and appearance. The study is based on evidence that physical self-concept significantly influences an individual's well-being and that there is a two-way relationship between physical self-perception and exercise participation. This research aims to explore whether improving body image and physical capabilities through regular exercise can help manage the physical and psychological effects of endometriosis. The study involves different bodily practices including a 40-minute circuit training session, analgesic physical therapy involving massage and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) in a 40-minute session, and a combined approach of 25 minutes of circuit training plus 15 minutes of physical therapy. These interventions are designed to assess their effects on participants' physical self-concept and quality of life. Participants will be women aged 18 to 55 with a confirmed diagnosis of endometriosis. Throughout the study, researchers will evaluate quality of life after six months. Participants will undergo assessments related to their physical abilities, body image, and well-being. The study will monitor adherence to the exercise programs and consider safety by excluding those with cardiovascular risks or inability to perform the exercises. The total participation period includes baseline assessments and follow-up evaluations at six months.
