This research aims to evaluate how well upadacitinib works in treating adults with ulcerative colitis, a condition causing inflammation and bleeding in the colon and rectum. About 400 adults prescribed upadacitinib by their doctors in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will participate. The study focuses on understanding the drugs impact on disease activity over time. Participants will take upadacitinib as directed by their treating physician following local guidelines. There are no additional treatments or procedures beyond standard care. The study does not involve a control group or placebo instead, it observes participants receiving the medication as part of routine clinical care. Participants will visit the clinic regularly over a period of up to two years. During these visits, researchers will collect and use data typically gathered during standard medical appointments, without adding extra testing or procedures. The main measurement is the percentage of participants who achieve symptom relief at one year, especially among those who responded to treatment by week 8. This approach helps monitor long-term effectiveness and safety in typical care settings.
