Researchers are studying new digital and molecular markers to better predict the risk of developing cancer, especially breast cancer. The study aims to find differences in biomarkers, lifestyle, or family history between cancer patients and healthy individuals that may signal a higher chance of developing cancer. This combined case-control and cohort study is sponsored by the University of Erlangen-Nrnberg Medical School to improve early detection and preventive measures for cancer. Participants will be divided into two groups a case group with a known current or past diagnosis of breast, lung, colorectal, or gynecologic cancer, and a control group of healthy individuals without a cancer history. All participants will provide biomaterials such as blood or saliva for biomarker screening, with optional samples like breath, urine, or stool. They will also use the BayPass mobile app to complete questionnaires and report screening results over 12 months. During the study, participants will be monitored through biomarker analysis and app-based self-reported health behaviors. Researchers will assess breast cancer risk using a polygenic risk score combined with data collected via the app at baseline. The study involves written consent, smartphone use, and ongoing data collection over one year, with safety monitored by excluding participants with certain infections or severe illnesses.
