Researchers are studying adults aged 18 to 65 with uncontrolled hypertension to see if phone call and video-based interventions can help improve how well they take their blood pressure medications. The study aims to design these mobile health interventions, check their effect on medication adherence, evaluate their cost-effectiveness, and understand how acceptable these methods are to patients in Ghanas Eastern Region. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups one group will receive phone call reminders and education about hypertension, another group will receive similar information through videos sent via WhatsApp, and the control group will receive usual care without these interventions. Both phone calls and videos will be delivered three times a week for three months, scheduled at times convenient for the participants. Video group participants will receive data to support viewing the videos. During the study, researchers will collect baseline and post-intervention data including blood pressure measurements and medication adherence using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale MMAS-8. Participants will visit the health facility at the end of three months for outcome assessments and to evaluate how acceptable the interventions were. The study will measure changes in systolic blood pressure and medication adherence as primary outcomes, along with blood pressure control rates and intervention acceptability as secondary outcomes.
